No matter where you are in your career—if you’ve just begun to
perform, you’re running the show, or find yourself somewhere in
between —you need smart advice on how to begin, maintain, grow, fund,
publicize, support, sustain and/or survive a career in the arts.

During this workshop we will examine the practical aspects of the arts, including career options, growing audiences, dealing with press, financial administration, raising funds creatively, and many other topics.

By the end of this whirlwind, you will be better prepared to perform the business tasks expected of arts professionals, and have a more holistic understanding of the field and your own community.

Culminating in a showcase performance, workshop participants will participate in a daily technique class and repertory class with members of d a n a h b e l l a DanceWorks.

Technique class:

Daily technique class is an investigation of movement from the inside out, encouraging efficient use of strength and technique while exploring full-bodied movement with an emphasis on breath and dynamics.

Repertory:

Participants will explore excerpts from d a n a h b e l l a DanceWorks repertoire, presenting their findings in the showcase performance.
