In addition to 10 days of cutting-edge performances, Big Range will support 9 workshops for dancers, non-dancers, actors, movers, shakers, bakers, candlestick makers…anybody. Wow! The applications are in for Big Range Austin and we have a difficult job ahead of us. I am truly excited about, what I am tempted to call, a “new era” in contemporary dance in Austin. Every step of this process I am learning something new and looking forward to what is next. I have a powerful group of people working with me to offer, what I feel, is a wonderful opportunity to powerful artists. Program B will be presented at Salvage Vanguard Theater’s 2nd Stage, June 9-11. Choreographed works will be set to one of two original compositions. Three choreographers will be chosen to present their interpretation of music composition #1 by Andy Hadaway, and three choreographers will be chosen for composition #2, by Laura Phelan.
Application information for interested choreographers is located in the documents below. All contemporary choreographers are encouraged to apply. Application deadline=February 15, 2008.
