This past weekend’s (Program A) show was such a profound experience for me because I never had expected to be so proud and excited on opening night. I expected to be tired and slightly concerned about things running smoothly etc…but I can not say enough about the work, commitment, artistry, performance, audience participation, and feedback! WOW, WOW and WOW. All I can say is THANK YOU!
Now, as for Programs B and C….hmm? What can I say…Oh I know! It’s brilliant! In the small performing area on SVT’s second stage the house was packed of not only people, but with ideas, movement, song, laughter, music and beauty.
I can not wait to see Program D!

I am honored to be dancing and showing work in this first weekend of Big Range Austin. It is just the beginning of the eclectic range of movement this festival has to offer. As you come to see the shows and participate in Big Range I would love to hear feedback, either through emails, talking with me after the shows, or filling out our surveys…how ever. Your participation in the event is as important as ours. We’ll see you at the shows….OH, if you are coming to the Ballet Austin show tonight or tomorrow give yourself time to find parking! It’s downtown you know (maybe take a bus, or carpool?)
big hugs- ellen
In other news, I attended the dress rehearsal last night to get a preview of Program A. The show has a wonderful mix of movement and techniques, humor and seriousness, animation and suspension. There’s also a giant acorn. Seriously. If for nothing else, come for the acorn.
