This project is funded and supported in part by the Austin Community Foundation, the City of Austin through the Cultural Arts Division and by a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts and an award from the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.

No matter where you are in your career—if you’ve just begun to
perform, you’re running the show, or find yourself somewhere in
between —you need smart advice on how to begin, maintain, grow, fund,
publicize, support, sustain and/or survive a career in the arts.

During this workshop we will examine the practical aspects of the arts, including career options, growing audiences, dealing with press, financial administration, raising funds creatively, and many other topics.

By the end of this whirlwind, you will be better prepared to perform the business tasks expected of arts professionals, and have a more holistic understanding of the field and your own community.
